Biography

Nirav Patel joined Navrachana University in July 2016 as an Assistant Professor, Civil engineering Department.

Scholarship and Accomplishments

Nirav Patel was awarded 1st position for Earthquake quiz at IIT Kanpur in 2010. He has published 2 research papers, one in an international journal and the other at a national conference along with presentation too. To keep himself updated he has attended various national level seminars.

Nirav Patel has worked as a civil engineer over a decade as well as a structure designer on residential, commercial and industrial projects. He stared teaching and research work at NIT, Surat. Because of his considerable industry experience, his teaching philosophy is application oriented and it is ground in a practice-oriented theory that ensures build-able structures. He is particularly interested in performance based design for new buildings and ensures that there is a strong theory-practice connect. At Navrachana University, he teaches Strength of materials, Structural Analysis and Advanced Construction Technology and ensures that classroom education has a practice focus. He is encouraged by the teaching-learning process and a student-centered approach that actively engages students in the learning of skills that develops and fosters excellence.
